Cfstyle.com was able to talk to Kenwyn Millington of Trinidad and Tobago who has been nominated in the categories of Caribbean Male Runway Model and Male Photo Model.
1) How do you feel about being nominated for a Caribbean Fashion Award?
I am very happy to be nominated in two categories. It is good to see that my work is being seen and even appreciated around the Caribbean and by extension the international market. Being an aspiring international model, for a while I thought that I was under the radar because I haven’t made the “breakthrough” by working with well established international brands but I understand that the CFA is about us (Caribbean people and our accomplishment no matter how big or small).

We were able to talk to Sara Collins of Barbados who has been nominated in the category Caribbean Female Runway Model.
1. How do you feel about being nominated for a Caribbean Fashion Award?
We in the Caribbean fashion industry tend to have to work extra hard to be taken seriously and make a name for ourselves, therefore to receive public recognition is, of course, more than an added plus. It is a recognition not only for ourselves personally but for all our wonderful islands!

1. How do you feel about being nominated for a Caribbean Fashion Award?
It is really cool, I think there are so many talented people in the cosmetic industry, and to be recognized or even acknowledged is something that is motivating. I see it as just another platform to raise the bar of standards for my work.
2. How many years have you been doing makeup?
I started when I was 16 years old, doing women in church concerts, I don’t know how they allowed a teenager with nothing but his hands work on their faces with their makeup, I didn’t even know what I was doing, but I think maybe it was God’s talent in motion.
