CFSTYLE.com Exclusive with Sidaico Image Services Director : Stacey Codrington
Well its here once again Sidaico Fashion Workshop. This year its with International guest contributor Nigel Barker.
We talk with Stacey about the plans for this years event
CFSTYLE.com: In retrospect are you completely satisfied with last year’s show; or are there elements that you would definitely change?
Sidaico Image Services: I am somewhat of a perfectionist at times, so I am never completely satisfied with anything I do. I do believe that the show in a nutshell went well, but there is always room for improvement. My biggest disappointment was Ocean Pearl’s catering and rude catering staff that cost a fortune, yet left most of my guest rushing to KFC after the show; while some of us did eat, including my staff and family, we suffered the effects of food poisoning the night of and day after the even.
CFSTYLE.com : It is fair to say that the event has grown from last year not only in its duration but in its function. What are your objectives of hosting this particular two day show?
Sidaico Image Services: I see a tremendous effort within the local fashion fraternity to capitalize on our local talent and potential, which I believe is an endless supply. This is evident in the apparent surge in model searches, fashion themed events, and a few other fads that add to employ our professionals, as well as to motivate those in contemplation of entering the industry. However, what I am not seeing is enough preparatory and training opportunities that aid to educate and expose our local hopefuls with regards to international trends and standards. While I have all faith in our local fashion gurus and icons, I do believe that being exposed to those who have taken their show to an international stage, and have succeeded in building a global brand and name for themselves, can further add to open our scopes to the full potential of this business, as opposed to the limitations we currently face.

AH, Carnival time is in the air! After months of sacrifices to pay for that special costume and many aerobic classes to work off all the Christmas pounds, the moment of truth is finally here. Carnival has become synonymous with glamour from head to toe. Gone are the days of splashing on sunscreen and running out the house. People now take the time to apply intricate designs to their faces and bodies. Some are even going as far as making appointments from as early as 5AM to have their makeup done professionally. However, whether you decide to go all out or keep it simple, it is all up to you.
