Well Fashion Week Trinidad and Tobago seems to be speeding along we are at the end of day two of the event. All however seems to not be as fully organized as it needs to be.
Media Accreditation has been an issue for CFSTYLE.com and another popular media organization in Trinidad and Tobago. To us at CFSTYLE.com it seems foolish that media accreditation was not sent to media organizations that follow fashion and its happenings in Trinidad and the Caribbean ESPECIALLY since the event has as its priority to revitalize the fashion industry. How is it possible that Fashion in Trinidad and the Caribbean can go forward without ensuring that media organizations whose goal it is to follow fashion are left out?
Before you come to the conclusion that we did not do what was required of us, I am going on record to say that we were liaising with some of the main persons behind the event since before the final date of the event was cemented. To be treated like this now smacks of a total disrespect for the promotion and awareness we have done leading up to the event. After much persistence and negotiation we were able to get a photographer in to the event.
Apparently there also seems to be an issue with tickets and how many have been sold. On several occasions during Saturday night’s show there were customers who were turned away because there were no more seats inside of the event. They were told to return on Tuesday night.
Finally coming out of the Hyatt has been a mess, basically if you plan to leave as soon as the event is complete then rethink that move and instead stand outside your car with your speakers blasting and have a party.
Apparently there was a 30 minute wait by some persons trying to get out on Friday night because of the massive amount of traffic. It seemed to be about the same amount of time we sat on Saturday and basically listened to music while sitting waiting for the traffic pile to clear. If the Hyatt attendants would walk and collect the tickets, instead of sitting in the booths this would reduce the pile up a whole lot clearly this should happen from day 3 later today.
These seem to be some of the operational issues from the standpoint of what we know and have seen. We will be observing keenly as to what happens on days 3 -5 and see if these things become rectified.
