The Islands of the World Fashion Week is put on by Mode Iles, Ltd., a branch of The Montaque Group which strives to showcase designers that are either from or based in islands around the world.
The event is endorsed by United Nations Educational, Scientific & Cultural Organization (UNESCO) based in Paris and hopes to help drive attention to important world issues including global issues of the environment and climate change, the education of youth on HIV/AIDS, and poverty alleviation.
Kenneth Cole is set to receive the “Humanatarian designer award”. The award will be presented to Kenneth Cole and Kenneth Cole Productions, Inc. personified so explicitly the concern for these issues.
Among the international guest designers that will be showing at The Islands of The World Fashion Week shows is fashion designer Kevan Hall, whose clients include Vanessa Williams and Sharon Stone. Mr. Hall will close Islands of The World Fashion Week.
