The Editor says: What a beautiful resort collection with a great finish! The colour palette was perfect, fresh yet subtly elegant and very cohesive. The details on the sky blue outfits and the careful consideration of the tie-dye placement in the construction of the darker pieces absolutely get the thumbs up! In only six outfits, I can definitely see an entire collection growing out of this idea, with each outfit able to carry its own as well as fit into a lineup. Definitely looking forward to more from this designer!
The Editor says: Great outerwear, great construction, great flow to this lineup. Clearly the designer has an eye for shape and lines in relation to the figure. I loved the brown coat, which had aristocratic flair but was still completely wearable! In the first CAFD exhibition, we applauded the students on their ability to create winter wear – this designer has reinforced that opinion. My only wish is the elimination of the shoulder wig on what is otherwise a pretty eye-catching outfit – it doesn’t need the wig and the wig makes no sense in relation to the presentation of the other outfit. I LOVE the trousers in this outfit!
The Editor says: How fantastic are those light gold high-waisted trousers?! I want! What impressed me about this designer is the attention to detail and form. The silhouettes are lovely yet simple. A look at the finale dress and it’s easy to see the same in a variety of colours on any great boutique rack. I love the fifties feel of the swishy cream skirt, and can appreciate the work that went into creating the lines and shapes in the accompanying top. Definitely one to look out for.
