The best thing to eat in Barbados is… Fresh fish, easily acquired from our many fish markets around the island. Try our dolphin (Mahi Mahi); don’t be alarmed, it’s not Flipper!
The biggest summer party or festival is… Cropover. It’s our people’s way of celebrating the end of a successful sugar cane season and harvesting. There are various fantastic parties to attend that highlight our Calypso music and lead up to our Kadooment Day, which is a street Carnival

Summertime in Barbados means… waking up at the crack of dawn to go to the beach; margaritas at Coconuts Bar in Paynes Bay; long laughs with good friends; summer romances; Cropover; and saving the last week of summer to head over to the east coast for beach house action.
My favourite thing about summer is… hot parties and Cropover, but mostly the free time to finally enjoy paradise!
