In this final week leading up to the world famous Carnival Monday and Tuesday in Trinidad, there is a mad rush to secure those final items to complete the look for the respective days: eyelashes, body jewels, makeup and hair appointments, and last but certainly not least… footwear.
Carnivalkicks.com was launched in 2009 by Farrah Ragoonath, a self-proclaimed shoe lover and ‘Carnival baby’. She began her business out of necessity, she says, when she could find ‘no quick and easy fixes for accessories to compliment my costume, especially as a Trini living abroad.’
After spending one too many Carnival seasons searching for appropriate and fashionable footwear, stockings, glitter and other accessories, Farrah took the initiative that now has her leading the pack when it comes to a one-stop-shop for Carnival. Three years after starting small with a basic website, limited inventory and a leap of faith, CarnivalKicks now caters to customers around the world and has forged relationships with some of the biggest names in Carnival, from both the Caribbean and North America.
CFstyle.com loves that CarnivalKicks still has options available in this hectic final week leading up to the main event. CarnivalKicks Booths can be found at Tribe, Spice, Harts and Fantasy distribution centres. Though there isn’t a booth with Island People this year, the main office location is nearby at 18 Nizam Street in St. James.
Here are some of the options currently available, in case you were wondering!
‘Trinis tend to be last minute by nature, so I absolutely have last-minute options available. Our booths at the distribution centres and our convenient office location make it possible to find suitable footwear immediately. However, for next year, remember to order online early and have your pair ready to pickup at the mas camp of your choice; this way you’ll be sure to get the correct size, colour and style!’
Head to www.CarnivalKicks.com now before it’s too late! And have a great time ‘on d road’!
