As the month of October comes to an end, here’s a look at monochrome both on and off the runway that we love!
International Runway Watch
Commuun S/S 2012
What a fantastic print on a simple shift dress to flatter almost any figure! The beauty of this outfit is that it incorporates those shades of grey, which makes it a less harsh version of the monochrome mania.
This collection showed that it is possible to do monochrome without the need for harsh lines and sharp edges. The African print is just right, without going overboard in the styling. Keep the look clean by pairing this busy skirt with a solid top and smooth and sleek ponytail or tousled waves, but keep the accessorizing to a minimum. A great bag will suffice!
These trousers are simply gorgeous with the vertical black lines lengthening the legs while the horizontal lines at the waistband will help balance out the piece as they run across the hips.
Gucci Resort Collection 2012
This beautifully tailored short is so flattering and very chic, especially when styled like this! The great thing about a tailored short is that it flatters practically any and every cut of top, meaning that whatever your taste – from a crisp white shirt to an off-the-shoulder draped jersey top or a plain vest – you have a look that works and is easy to create! Pair with a great oversized tote bag, and we love the pop of colour shown here with sunglasses being the only other accessory!

The direction of the stripes in this flared number by Hak Gwai will give great shape to the leaner, athletic figures by adding the illusion of curves around the hips. Make sure that the skirt hits at the right spot on the leg for maximum appeal!

How cute are these black and white button earrings? Made by Tameika Fletcher-Birmingham for K-ollectibles, they also come in large square and larger round sizes.
