International Runway Watch – Collette Dinnigan
Introducing monochrome done the feminine way. There is so much graphic print monochrome out there, but as much as we love it, there needs to be options available for the truly feminine fashionistas out there. Cue the Collette Dinnigan Spring/Summer 2012 choices, where the design label’s use of fabrics makes all the difference.
A wonderful take on the kaftan, this relaxed outfit works. The easy cut through the bust and shoulders keeps it relaxed; sheer fabrics make it feminine and flirty; and we mustn’t forget the pop of white with bold black stripe at the skirt hem, which takes this look into the chic contemporary spotlight. We love it.
Lace, lace and more lace. This is a super-sexy look that uses more organic patterns, the complete opposite of bold graphic lines. Wear a white body-con dress under this to make it pop.
More flirty and less sexy, this blend of sheer and lace fabrics provides the perfect balance for a great outfit. The skirt is the perfect length for most body types, with the little flare at the hem making the silhouette even more interesting.
We just adore the nude pumps paired with these monochrome looks! Wearing skin tone heels will make your legs look longer and calves more slender for maximum appeal!

Our clothing pick:
This whimsical shirt, which plays on the tuxedo look, is by designer Robert Young of Trinbagonian fashion powerhouse The Cloth, a leader in appliqué techniques. This piece was shown as part of the thestudyOFive© collection at Caribbean Fashion Week in Jamaica. Wear with a skinny black pant or a great pair of tailored shorts and roll up the sleeves to complete the look. Leave the hair loose and tousled to soften it up and add femininity!
We also like:
Accessorize this floaty number with strong black pieces to make a statement, or be more subdued with tones of black and grey layered accessories or other clothing pieces, for example a black waistcoat and a grey blazer or a two tone belt.

We love this animal-print bikini by Chandra Maharaj, which plays on the classic triangle bikini top. Look out for more information on this Florida-based Trinidadian designer and the lovely Chandra Maharaj Swimwear collection on CFstyle.com!
