Fringe is back in a big way for 2011, but think flapper chic as opposed to cowboy chaps, please!
Use fringe as an accent or go all out if you dare, strut your stuff and work those curves for movement, movement, movement and all eyes on you!
Try an edgy material like leather to toughen up the look, à la Kevork Kiledjian fall 2011 ready-to-wear. This is perfect for those of you that like the rock ‘n’ roll edge but still want to maintain a feminine feel.
Don’t be afraid to accessorize with chunky cuff bracelets and huge statement rings for this look – this is not for the timid!
Alternatively, stay edgy but flirty in a suede fringe, like this asymmetric Emilio Pucci number in suede. The eyelets and buckle strap keep it interesting while the suede fabric is not as intimidating as leather.
If you’re petite, a short flapper-style dress will do wonders to make your legs look longer when paired with killer heels. Adding strategically placed sparkle to your outfit – either through accessorizing or within the outfit itself – will keep the eye travelling up and down your body, giving the illusion of length.
Fringe doesn’t have to be all over to have an impact. It can be just as effective when used as an accent to dress up the hem or neckline of a casual top, or even better as an accessory, such as a killer clutch. We love the chain!
